Sacred Games Memes For Indians all over the world, 15th August 2019 was all about celebrating Independence Day. You know, hoisting the flag, singing ‘Jana Gana mana‘ and watching patriotic movies, the whole deal. But for addicts of good content (like me), it was also Sacred Games day!

I still remember the day Season 1 of Sacred Games dropped. People were appreciating the kind of quality content that the team of Vikram Chandra, Vikramaditya Motwane, and Anurag Kashyap had brought to the fore. They were gushing about the stellar performances displayed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte, and practically the entire cast. And they simply couldn’t stop making memes out of it.

To be honest, although there has been a year-long gap between Season 1 and Season 2, it never felt like Sacred Games has left my life. Now that’s in part due to the amazing storytelling and thematic depth that the writers and directors were able to exhibit. But I think the memes are also responsible for making the show such a cultural phenomenon. Yes, we do see them as some petty jokes.

But if you think about it, you will realize that it is these very memes that help Gaitonde, Sartaj, Guruji, and Bunty hover around us long after they’re gone.
